This book is the Master’s thesis of the author. Hunor came in contact with the Russian post-debt-defaulting era during his graduate studies. Having both the professional and academic help of former World Bank and IMF officials, this work can help people interested in Russian public finances to make their first steps. It must be stated that the book plays the role of an appetizer, it is not by far exhaustive, and takes a birdview upon the status quo of Russian taxation from the early years of the 21st century. Hunor Mikls-Klein graduated from Babes-Bolyai University and later on from Central European University. Since finishing his studies he worked in different financial positions. He currently lives in Budapest where he coordinates the financials of several Eastern-European countries (Russia being within this cluster) for a US-owned conglomerate.
