Description
Although it is a global industry, language used by art world insiders can be alienating and confusing to those new to the sector. The A-Z of the International Art Market is written as an alphabetical glossary comprising art market terms and core concepts, both historical and contemporary. The book contains a number of extended introductory essays outlining the development of larger core themes, such as auctions, art fairs and art investment. For anyone working in the art world, it provides an accessible introduction to core concepts, as well as a thorough explanation of critical areas. Tom Flynn is Senior Lecturer and Course Director for the Art Appraisal (Professional Practice) course at Kingston University, as well as Course Director for International Art Markets at the American International University in London. He is a visiting lecturer at Christie’s, IESA (The Institut d’Etudes Suprieures des Arts in Paris) and Italy’s Association for Research into Crimes against Art. Tom is a member of the International Association of Art Critics and has featured as an art expert on several BBC tv and radio shows.
