Description
The government wishes to attract more foreign direct investment (FDI) and continues to implement reforms to make Burkina Faso more attractive to international investors. For instance, the World Bank cited Burkina Faso in its “Doing Business 2013” report as one of ten economies that made the largest strides in making their regulatory environment more favorable to business, and ranked it fourth for countries “narrowing the distance to frontier between 2005 and 2011.” (Note: “Frontier” is a synthetic measure based on the most business-friendly regulatory practices across nine areas of business regulation that range from starting a business to resolving insolvency.)
